Shillong ( Meghalaya), Nov 30 : A Blood donation camp was organized by BSF FTR HQ Meghalaya and BSF Composite Hospital Shillong in collaboration with NEIGRIHMS on Tuesday, the 30th November on occasion of 57th BSF Raising Day.
The camp was inaugurated by Sh. D Haokip DIG/PSO in the presence of Dr Ashok Rai, DIG (Med)/Medical Supdt, Composite Hospital, Shillong and other senior BSF officers. Sh D Haokip DIG/PSO and Dr. Ashok Rai, DIG (Med)/Medical Supdt delivered a motivational speech to the volunteers gathered for blood donation and emphasized the importance of blood donation, stating that one unit of blood donated by one individual can save the precious life of many needy persons.
Hospitals are always in dire need of blood and donating blood is our moral duty and obligation to our society. It is voluntary heartfelt gesture. So this is the best donation one can do and that is why blood donation is called “RAQT DAN MAHADAN”
All serving personnel of BSF including the serving ladies staff of BSF donated blood with a zeal to save the lives of citizens. By doing so border men have exhibited that they are ready to save the lives of citizens of India not only by guarding the border but also by donation the blood.
