Kokrajhar (Assam),Jan 29: Eminent educationist and social activist Sonam Wangchuk from Ladakh was in Kokrajhar on invitation from Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR) administration .
Sonam Wangchuk, who is an engineer, innovator and education reformist and founding-director of the students’ educational and cultural movement of Ladakh has been working dedicatedly for bringing healthy upliftment and developmental activities in the field of education.
He held a meeting with BTC Principal Secretary and senior officials regarding the educational environment in the council region.
He attended at an interactive session with educational institution heads,civil society organisations and student community where he stressed for quality educational environment in the society.
Wangchuk shared about the upliftment of education and social integration in the region and said that local language and literature are most essential part of humanity welfare to ensure healthy development.
He has urged upon the BTR administration to take up developmental services for paving way for human resources among the society.
” I have come here to share more information on how welfare and developmental activities can be taken up BTR administration. We must have an integrated society”, Sonam added.
Wangchuk also attended an interaction with educational institution heads at Nehru Milan Karuajan High School at Barama in Baksa district where BTR chief executive member Pramod Boro was the chief guest .
The heads of of various educational institutions thanked the BTR administration for taking such an initiative to reform the educational system in the region.
