Guwahati (Assam), March 16 : Biki Ali, the prime accused in the Guwahati gangrape case, has been killed in an incident of firing by the Assam police.
Biki Ali was shot by the personnel of Assam police when he allegedly tried to flee from custody.
On Tuesday, Assam police had arrested Biki Ali, one of the five accused in the Garigaon gang rape case. He was nabbed from Dampur hills of Kamrup district where he was hiding to avoid arrest.
The police claimed that Biki Ali was shot when he tried to flee from custody when he was taken to the crime scene late on Tuesday night for reconstruction of the crime.
Injured ,Biki was immediately rushed to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), here but the doctors declared him brought dead.
He sustained several bullet injuries in the police firing incident.
According to Guwahati police, two women police personnel also sustained injuries in the incident.
On February 6 last , Biki Ali had allegedly lured the minor girl to his house to rape her eventually and film the incident and started blackmailing the victim.
On Feb 19, he forced the girl to come with him to a hotel in Guwahati’s Garigaon area and was gang-raped by four of Biki Ali’s friends and himself.
The four other four accused have been identified as Faizul Ali, Pinku Ali, Poona Ali and Raja Ali.
Police have got some major leads about the four others and they are likely to be nabbed soon .
The case was registered under Sections 376 (D) of the IPC, Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and 67(B) of the IT Act against the five accused at the All Women Police Station in Guwahati’s Panbazar.
