Guwahati (Assam), March 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched three new trains and inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 4,570 crore in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, enhancing connectivity and infrastructure in the Northeast.
The trains – Kamakhya-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Express, and Narangi-Agartala Express – will improve rail links between Assam and other regions.
Key projects include Assam Mala 3.0, a Rs 3,200 crore road initiative, and a Rs 255 crore railway maintenance facility at Bashbari.
The move comes ahead of the Assam Assembly elections, expected next month.
