Guwahati (Assam), Oct , 6 : The Prime accused in the Assam police SI recruitment paper leak scam, former DIG PK Dutta was arrested in Nepal by a team of West Bengal police. He is likely be brought to Assam later in the night.
Dutta was nabbed in Kakarbhitta along India-Nepal border.
According to sources Dutta was arrested by the police while he was on his way to Assam to surrender.
The prime accused in the SI recruitment scam PK Dutta (IPS) had earlier disappeared along with his son Ishan and remained untraced despite Assam police making all-out attempts to nab him.
Earlier ,a team of Assam police has already left for Nepal to arrest him. The police had specific inputs that PK Dutta has taken refuge somewhere in Nepal.
The co – accused Diban Deka is believed to have provided the investigators several startling revelations during questioning.
Dutta’s daughter is married to a Nepal citizen, who is a resident of Kathmandu who had organised a safe passage for him .
It has been revealed that several candidates took a mock test on September 19 a day ahead of the test in a Guwahati hotel owned by PK Dutta.
