Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Feb 17: Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta today raised his concern over a series of arms haul in the region and anti -social elements allegedly trying to carry out subversive activities in Bodo Territorial Region( BTR) areas.
Mahanta has been camping in Kokrajhar since Tuesday evening to take stock of law and order situation in BTR ahead the Assam assembly elections.
Mahanta today held meetings with senior police officials including IGP(BTR).
DGP Mahanta said that strict action would be taken against people who are trying to indulge in anti social activities by arms to the region .
He said that at today’s juncture, the BTR area is peaceful and an environment of peace and tranquility prevails after signing of BTR accord.
He said that police is fully prepared to take stern measures against anti -social elements who are trying to create law & order problem in the days to come.
He said that under no circumstances BTR districts would be allowed to be disturbed and the state government and police administration are fully prepared to face any situation .
