Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases across the country, several states have resorted to measures like lockdown, night curfews and weekend lockdowns but Assam government is not in favour of any of such measures.
“There is no possibility of lockdown or night curfew in Assam. I request everyone to get themselves if they have symptoms. There is no need to panic but we should remain alert, We will conduct 1 lakh tests daily to ensure that the situation within the state is normal ” Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma sai..

Assam reported 195 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, pushing the coronavirus tally in the state to 2,19,027, a bulletin issued by National Health Mission (NHM) said. Assam currently has 847 active COVID-19 cases.
A total of 11,30,808 people have so far received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine across the state, while 2,03,263 people have got the second dose.
