Guwahati(Assam), May 4 : The alarming spike in Covid-19 cases in the state continues with a total of 4475 new cases detected in the state on Tuesday .
The state also reported the highest number of casualties so far with 41 deaths .
Captial city Guwahati and its suburbs reported 1417 new cases today .
The overall positivity percentage is 8.14 % with a recovery rate of 88.49 .
Seeing the deteriorating Covid -19 situation in Assam, the State Government has issued fre SOPs in order to curb the alarming rise .
As per the new order , issued by the Government, all shops and business establishments will to close by 2pm and night curfew will be enforced in force from 6pm.
“All offices both private and Government shall close at 2pm on all days and only officers and 50% employees can work from office,” the SOP stated .
The fresh SOPs will come into force from 5 am on Wednesday .
The vaccination for 18-44 category got a booster today with the receipt of fresh batch of 1.5 Lakhs Covaxin doses from from Bharat Biotech today .
Assam Health Minister, tweeted ” While we shall launch this #CovidVaccination symbolically tomorrow, it shall be in full swing from May 7.”Our sincere gratitude to @ITCCorpCom for having supported Govt of Assam with a 1050 LPM PSA type Oxygen plant worth Rs 143.37 lakhs as part of their CSR initiative. The purchase order for the same has been issued today.”
