Kokrajhar (Assam),June 10 : The signatories of Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR) accord have urged upon the chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to ensure implementation of the various clauses of the BTR which signed between centre,state and Bodo leaders of various organizations on January 27 last after the tripartite peace talks.
A six member delegation of BTR accord signatories led by former ABSU president Pramod Boro,former president of NDFB-P Gavinda Basumatary, ABSU president Dipen Boro, general secretary Lawrence Islary and former general secretary of NDFB-S BR Ferenga met chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday and submitted a memorandum urging for implementation of the BTR accord at the earliest .
The third Bodo accord,which led to creation of Bodoland Territorial Region is meant for paving way for development and welfare amongst all sections of the society.
The accord addressed the maximum aspiration of the Bodos and other communities living in Bodoland region and the state and was signed in presence of chief minister and the Union Home Minister and the Prime Minister attended the Thanks giving ceremony at Kokrajhar on Feb 7 last .
The delegation urged upon the chief minister to ensure that the accord is meaningful with its implementation in totality .
The delegation demanded early allotment of ex-gratia payment and Rehabilitation to NDFB Cadres Clause 9.2 (i). (ii) and (iii), recruitment of the NDFB cadres in government jobs Clause 9.2 (iv) and withdrawal of Cases Clause 9.4.
The delegation put up the demand for proper implementation of all the clauses of the BTR accord.
“The team members also demanded early implementation of rehabilitation package to all factions of NDFB cadres and satisfactory and we hope that all clauses of the accord would be implemented in the days to come.”, the delegation members said.
