Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Feb 19: United People’s Party Liberal(I) chief Pramod Boro has expressed his unhappiness over reports that former NDFB members are again going back to jungles after coming back to mainstream through the historic BTR(Bodoland Territorial Region) accord.
Boro who is also BTC chief executive member said that the UPPL was fully prepared to contest the upcoming Assam assembly elections.
He that that the UPPL will contest the assembly elections in alliance with the BJP as UPPL is ruling the BTC with an alliance with BJP and GSP.
He said that UPPL will be contesting in 12 seats in the BTC districts and is getting massive support from the public for the upcoming assembly elections.
“We are getting support whole heartedly in all constituencies in BTC districts and we emerging as winners is almost clear,”, Boro said.
He has said that UPPL-BJP-GSP combine coalition in BTC government was working with dedication for the welfare and development of the citizens in the council region.
Boro also came down heavily on the BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary’s allegations that a military rule is prevailing in BTC, said that there are no reports of any military rule in BTC as leveled by him .
He said that the BPF ruled BTC administration saw massive corruption and anomalies in their 17 years of rule in BTC administration, but sadly today Mohilary blaming that military regime is prevailing in the region.
He alleged that during BPFs rule citizens from all sections of the society were deprived of their due rights and welfare due to their insincerity towards the common people .
He said government is taking stern steps against the movement of arm’s in the BTC region by some people with vested interests .
He has urged upon the state government to take stern steps against movement of illegal arms to restore peace and tranquility.
“The need of the hour is for the police to take stern action anti social elements”, Boro added.
