Kokrajhar (Assam),Oct 20: Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has clarified that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alliance with only United People’s Party Liberal ( UPPL) party and not with any other parties like BPF in Bodoland Territorial Region districts.
On Tuesday,CM Sarma while addressing a by-poll campaign at Gossaigaon town in support of NDA alliance backed UPPL candidate for No.28 Gossaigaon LAC, Jiron Basumatary said that the BJP led NDA alliance candidates including UPPL are sure to emerge victorious from all the contesting constituencies across the state in the Oct 30 by-elections in the state.
He reiterated that BJP only has alliance with UPPL and has no relation or alliance with BPF party.
“BJP only has an alliance with UPPL in BTR “, Sarma said.
He said that NDA government in the state was working with dedication for the welfare and development in the state since it was voted to the power.
He said that the BJP led NDA alliance parties are committed to work for the welfare and integration of the common masses in the region for bringing all round development and integration among the society.
” Peace and tranquility among all sections of the society is prevailing with deep united and integrated communication. Today, common masses want healthy environment with deep dedication for development and accordingly coming forward to extend support to the NDA backed UPPL candidates”, Sarma said.
CM Sarma said that 11 lakh micro finance holder would be given away cheques within November next across the state as per promise made by the BJP during the assembly elections.
He said that all development and welfare related issues and grievances of citizens under Gossaigaon LAC would be sorted out in the days to come.
He criticized the Opposition parties including Congress stating that the Congress party has no human welfare strategy to woo the voters.
He has urged the common masses to vote in favor of NDA alliance backed UPPL candidates at Gossaigaon and Tamulpur LACs respectively.
On Wednesday also, Sarma addressed an election rally at Rupohi of Baksa district in support of BJP candidate for Bhawanipur LAC, Phanidhar Talukdar.
Dr Sarma said that BJP led NDA candidates are confident of winning all contesting constituencies across five constituencies in the by-polls.
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member (CEM) and UPPL president Pramod Boro also expressed his confidence that NDA backed UPPL candidates Jiron Basumatary (Gossaigaon) and Jolen Daimary (Tamulpur) and BJP party nominee are winning in the contesting constituencies with massive support of voters.
He said that citizens irrespective of caste creed and language are coming forward to extend support to the UPPL candidate in Gossaigaon and Tamulpur constituencies for better development and welfare among the society.
He said that BTR administration and state government are dedicatedly working towards development in the BTR districts since it’s inception.

Meanwhile, Assam cabinet minister and senior UPPL leader Urkhao Gwra Brahma said that the Opposition BPF in BTR has lost it’s patience and that is why it’s members are eroding day by day from the party.
Notably, five BPF MCLAs in Bodoland Territorial Region have resigned from party and joined different political parties during the last ten months of the UPPL led alliance government formed in BTR.
Talking exclusively with this Correspondent in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, Brahma said that BPF party and it’s leaders are have lost their faith on their own party as well leadership .
”The BPF should play the role of a strong opposition in BTR as well state government, but as of now they have become like parasites desperately trying to align with BJP and NDA ”, Brahma said.
