Kokrajhar (Assam),April 2: Assam Health and Education minister and NEDA Chief Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the UPPL will be part of the next government in Assam as NDA alliance candidates are winning majority of the seats across the state in the forthcoming assembly elections.
On Friday, the face of BJP in the north east and Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and BTR CEM Pramod Boro addressed election meetings at several constituencies in BTR .
They addressed election rallies at Monakocha ground in support of UPPL candidate for Kokrajhar West constituency Manaranjan Brahma and also election campaigns at Srirampur in Gossaigaon constituency.
Sarma was seen dancing to the tune theme song of the NDA alliance parties which drew a huge crowds.
Dr Sarma said that he was confident that NDA alliance candidates would be emerging victorious in majority of the seats across the BTR districts.
He said that BJP led NDA alliance will be winning over 100 seats in the state and added that NDA alliance candidates would be winning in all 12 constituencies across the BTR districts in the assembly elections.
UPPL president and BTR CEM Pramod Boro also claimed that in the assembly elections BPF will face a severe defeat as the party has become value less.
He said that people want parivartan and development in the society in Assam and will accordingly vote in favour of NDA alliance parties across the state during the assembly elections.
Today , a road show was also organised at Kokrajhar town in support of UPPL candidates for the assembly elections which was attended by Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and UPPL chief Pramod Boro.
More than a thousand people joined the road show which started from DNH high school ground via Santinagar, Vivekananda path, RNB road and concluded at KDSA ground.
Highly placed source told South Asia Views that 3 to 4 BTC MCLA of the BPF are likely to join UPPL this evening.
UPPL president Pramod Boro said that while it is a setback for the BPF, UPPL will gain which would ensure that all the NDA alliance candidates would be winning in all the contesting constituencies across the BTR districts.
BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary also addressed an election meetings at Bhotgaon,Tengapara in support of BPF candidate Pramila Rani Brahma today in Kokrajhar East constituency.
Mohilary said that the Congress led Mahajoth will get majority of the seats across the state to form the next government.
BPF candidate and Assam Social welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma also addressed election meetings at Daokitu Bazar near Bishmuri,Bashbari under Kokrajhar East constituency.
Brahma said that she is sure to win from Kokrajhar East constituency for seventh term as people are coming forward to extend support to her and her party .
On the other hand, additional DGP and in-charge IGP of BTC,Dr L R Bishnoi said that police administration in BTC district have deployed sufficient security vigil across the region for the Assam assembly elections.
He said in all the 3520 polling stations across the districts and necessary security arrangements have been made.
“Sufficient security deployment including armed forces have been deployed in all polling stations for the assembly elections to ensure that it is held in a free and fair manner “, Bishnoi said.
