Kokrajhar (Assam), Aug 18: Continuing their search operations against illegally arms and ammunition in the districts of Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC), police seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Chirang district three days after after arms and ammmunitation recoveries in Udalguri and Kokrajhar district.
According to police, based of specific input, a search operation was conducted by Chirang Police led by Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Prakash Medhi, on Tuesday morning from 07.40 AM onwards at Khagrabari village under Runikhata police station in the district.
During the operation, a huge cache of arms and ammunition were seized which kept buried under the ground .
On Aug 16, Kokrajhar police recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Saraibil and Serfanguri area .
Earlier on Aug 14 ,Udalguri police and Guwahati City Police recovered huge cache of arms and ammunitions.
The arms which were recovered at Khagrabari today included One Factory made (HK series) rifle along with one magazine, One AK Series rifle with two magazines ,Ki One Uzi type factory made firearm having two magazines,two factory made pistols with magazines, two Chinese Hand Grenades and 118 round live ammunitions.
No arrests have been made , till the filing of this report .
