Guwahati ( Assam), Oct 28: Deputy Commissoner , Kamrup has declared the office of Assam Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell as a micro-containment zone after detection of a significant number of Covid-19 positive cases.
The office of SP, Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell located at Rupnagar in Guwahati as a micro-containment zone for 7 days as a measure to counter the spread of Covid-19 after 11 staff members tested Covid-19 positive.
As per the DCs order , the boundary of the containment zone has been declared as North-ASTC Workshop South-GMC Road East-Srimantapur Road West-Rupnagar Main Road.
The DC Kamrup Metro has also declared two schools in Guwahati as containment zones following detection of Covid-19 cases.
Micro containment zone has also been declared at the Garigaon Balika Muktab and the Kamakhya High School, Maligaon as a containment zone to contain the spread of COVID-19.
In an order issued by Biswajit Pegu, Deputy Commissioner Kamrup (M) stated that both the schools are directed to remain closed for next 7 days.
“In view of detection of COVID-19 positive teachers in the Kamakhya High School, Maligaon Guwahati under Kamrup Metropolitan district in the interest of the maintenance of public hygiene and to prevent further spread of COVID-19 virus amongst the teaching staff and students, the school is hereby declared as Micro Containment zone and the school authority is directed to close the school for next 7 days wef from Thursday and the Circle Officer, Guwahati Revenue Circle is directed to seal the area immediately”, the order said .
Meanwhile, 322 new cases were detected today out of which 141 were from Kamrup (Metro)., 2 more patients also succumbed to their infections. The overall positivity percentage was 0. 81 (322 cases out of 39,629 tests done )and the recovery rate was 98.40%.
