Guwahati (Assam) , Nov 14 : An Army jawan from the state has been martyred in a major shelling along the Line of Control (LOC) in ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday .
According to sources , the jawan from state has been identified as Hardhan Chandra Roy, hailing from Phutukibari-Medhipara under Sapatgram police station in lower Assam’s Dhubri district.
During the flare -up, two other army jawans, a BSF sub-inspector, and three civilians were also killed .
The flare -up occured in various parts of Uri, Keran sector of Kupwara district and Izmarg in Gurez sector of Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir on FRiday . The Indian soilders also strongly retaliated .
According to Defence sources , there were casualties on the Pakistani side as well and 6-7 soldiers from Pakistan were killed while 10-12 were injured.
A number of army bunkers, fuel dumps and launchpads were destroyed and set on fire by the Indian forces.
