Guwahati (Assam ), April 15 : The state today reported another Covid death on taking the total toll to 1,123.The patient was from Kamrup Metro district.
According to a media statement , released by the Assam health & welfare department today the state recorded 499 new positive cases in the past 24 hours.
The fresh cases were detected out of the total 18,323 Covid tests.
Today a total of 85 patients were discharged from various hospitals in Assam after recovery and the state now has 3,613 active cases.
The highest caseload districts in Assam on Thursday included Kamrup Metro district which reported 255 new cases, Dibrugarh district which reported 64 cases while Kamrup Rural reported 31 new cases and Tinsukia district recorded 24 new Covid19 positive cases.
So far, 77,31,871 Covid19 tests have been conducted in Assam.
Assam has so far registered 2,22,367 Covid19 positive cases while 2,16,284 patients have been discharged.
According to the statement , 1,347 Covid19 positive patients have died for other reasons in Assam.
