Guwahati (Assam), Aug 27 : A total of 2036 new Covid cases were detected in the state and 4 more patients succumbed to their infections in the state during the past 24 hours .
Among the new cases , 481 cases were reported from Kamrup Metro, 146 from Jorhat , 129 from Dibrugarh and 110 from Hailakhandi .
4 more deaths were reported from the state today .
The patients who succumbed to their infections have been identified as Saraswati Nath (56) of Baksa; Arabinda Medhi (65) of Dibrugarh; Hasan Ali (59) of Darrang and Dhaneswar Talukdar (46) of Kamrup (M).
With this the death toll has gone up to 278 .
A total of 2345 were patients discharged from various hospitals after recovery today and the no of active cases now stand at 21564.
