Shillong(Meghalaya), Oct 10: Meghalaya were beaten by Tripura by eight wickets in their third Vinoo Mankad Trophy Group C match in Pune today.
On winning the toss, Meghalaya chose to bat first but they struggled from the outset and were all out for 78 in 23.5 overs.
Mrinal Das top-scored with 22 at the top of the order, while No. 3 Ayushman Das contributed 10. There was a period later on which saw Meghalaya lose six wickets for just nine runs to leave them on 50/8 before Banialam Mylliemngap hit an unbeaten 12 that helped his team put on a few more runs, though they were well short of triple figures.
In the chase, Tripura had little difficulty, though Raghav Magotra did claim 2/30 for Meghalaya. Tripura chased down the target in 13.3 overs.
Meghalaya’s next match will be against Vidarbha on Wednesday.
