Shillong ( Meghalaya), Sept 30 : A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday, the tremors of which were felt in parts of the northeast, including Meghalaya Manipur, Nagaland and southern Assam.
According to the National Centre For Seismology, the earthquake hit Myanmar at 3:52 am at a depth of 140 km. The epicentre of the quake was monitored at 23.09 degrees north latitude and 95.01 degrees east longitude.
The epicentre of quake was 96 km northwest of Shwebo, Sagaing Region, Myanmar (Burma), on Friday, Sep 30, 2022 at 4:52 am (GMT +6:30).
The moderate magnitude 5.6 earthquake was at 165 km depth.
No casualties have been reported so far.
