Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 9: In a heart-stopping semifinal match, Nongkseh emerged victorious over Langsning, winning 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 2-2 in regular time. The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating scoring opportunities.
Langsning took an early lead with goals from Donlad Diengdoh and Dajiedlang Wanshnong, but Nongkseh fought back to level the match with goals from Kynsaibor Lhuid and Mebankhraw Wahlang. The match went into extra time, but neither team could find the winner, leading to a penalty shootout.
The penalty shootout was intense, with both goalkeepers making crucial saves. However, it was Nongkseh’s nerve that held out in the end, as Langsning’s last penalty kick hit the crossbar and failed to cross the line.
Kynsaibor was named the Hello Meghalaya Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. Nongkseh will now face the winner of the second semifinal between Shillong Lajong and Meghalaya Police in the final. The second semifinal promises to be just as thrilling, with both teams looking to make it to the final.
