Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 14: Meghalaya has been honored with the 2nd Prize in the National Energy Conservation Award for the second consecutive year. The state secured 2nd place in the Group-D category, recognizing its efforts in promoting energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and promoting sustainability.
The award, organized by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India, acknowledges Meghalaya’s commitment to achieving significant environmental impact through energy-saving initiatives.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice President of India, and Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Power.
