Shillong ( Meghalaya), June 4 : With no new cases reported in Meghalaya on Saturday and the recovery of two patients in Ri Bhoi district , the State now has now become coronavirus-free even as India reported 4,041 new coronavirus infections today, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,68,585. The active cases also increased to 21,177, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
The state has had 93,826 Covid-19 cases, 92,233 have recovered and 1,593 have died from the virus.
Meanwhile, Mizoram on Saturday reported 19 new Coronavirus cases, one more than the previous day, with the tally rising to 2,28,391.
The COVID-19 death toll rose to 700 as two more people from Aizawl and Kolasib districts succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours.
The single-day positivity rate was 9.55 per cent as the 19 fresh cases detected from 119 samples tested.
At least 24 people have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries to 2,27,572.
Mizoram currently has 119 active COVID-19 cases.
