Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 4: In a scintillating Shillong Premier League 2025 match, Rangdajied United slammed the brakes on Nangkiew Irat’s winning streak with a 1-1 draw at the SSA Stadium. Manbhakupar Iawphniaw’s clinical finish in the 23rd minute gave Rangdajied the early advantage, but substitute Wanlamsuk Nongkhlaw’s opportunistic strike in the 66th minute ensured Nangkiew Irat escaped with a share of the spoils.
The match was a cauldron of intensity, with yellow cards flying left and right, and the drama didn’t end with the final whistle as a Nangkiew Irat player and the Rangdajied coach were shown red cards in a heated post-match confrontation. Rangdajied United looked like a different team, with speed, hunger, and determination coursing through their veins. Stephanson Pale’s early challenges tested Nangkiew Irat goalkeeper Surjay Kumar Pariyar, while Benny Khriam’s missed chance in the 37th minute left Rangdajied fans biting their nails.
Despite the setback, Nangkiew Irat remains unbeaten with 10 points from four games, while Rangdajied United climb to fourth place with 5 points from four outings. The match was a testament to the competitive spirit of the Shillong Premier League, with both teams leaving it all on the pitch.
