Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 8: Mylliem secured a crucial 4-1 victory over Nongrim Hills in the Shillong Premier League 2025 at the SSA Stadium, Polo, here. Alem Khongwir’s brace, including goals in the 36th and 50th minutes, helped Mylliem climb out of the relegation zone. Remark Kharmalki and Kevin Kurkalang added to the scoreline with goals in the 65th and 83rd minutes, respectively. Bansynshar Kharshong scored the only goal for Nongrim Hills in the 41st minute.
The win lifted Mylliem to eighth place with 8 points, tied with Laitkor but behind on head-to-head advantage. Nongrim Hills, meanwhile, are set to be relegated at the end of the season, having earned just 1 point and facing an uphill task even if they win both of their remaining matches.
Despite the sluggish pitch conditions due to heavy rainfall earlier in the day, the match saw fast-paced action. Alem Khongwir’s first goal was marked by a touch of luck as he failed to connect cleanly but still managed to score. The win provides a much-needed boost to Mylliem’s morale, while Nongrim Hills will look to end their campaign on a high note despite relegation being a foregone conclusion.
