Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 13 : Malki edged out Laitkor 1-0 in the Shillong Premier League 2025 at the SSA Stadiun here today. Fashioning Syngkli’s lightning-fast goal in under 45 seconds proved to be the difference-maker, as Malki’s solitary strike was enough to secure the win.
Laitkor’s chances took a hit when Felixdarren Suting was sent off with a direct red card for a brazen foul on a Malki player. Despite being a man down, Laitkor fought hard and earned a penalty in the 58th minute. However, Euvasius Mawthoh’s spot kick was denied by Malki goalkeeper Franklyn Surong, who made a terrific dive to push the ball away.
Franklyn’s outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award, as he made numerous crucial saves throughout the match. Malki’s win marked a successful return to the league, and they took three points from the match.
