Shillong ( Meghalaya), Feb 19 : Ricky Syongkon, the Member of Parliament from Shillong representing the Voice of the People Party (VPP), has suffered a cardiac attack while playing football today, February 19, 2026. The 54-year-old MP was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Syongkon, a doctorate holder and former assistant professor, has been an active member of the Lok Sabha, representing the Shillong (ST) constituency. He won the seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, securing 571,078 votes.
