Shillong ( Meghalaya ), Sep 29 : Additional Chief Secretary Smt. R V Suchiang, IAS has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Meghalaya. She will replace M S Rao, IAS, who will retire Thursday .
A government notification said , the 1989 batch IAS officer, Smt Suchiang as on date is the Additional Chief Secretary in Meghalaya government holding charges of Personnel & A.R, Cabinet Affairs, Finance, Home (Police) Departments etc.
The notification also said that on assumption of charge as Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya ,Ms. R V Suchiang shall also function as State Vigilance Commissioner.
The Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, M S Rao who is retiring on Thursday , has been appointed as the Chief Commissioner of the State Public Service Delivery Commission as per the Meghalaya Right to Public Service Act, 2020, according to an official notification issued on Wednesday .
