Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 1: Nongkseh registered a dominating 7-0 victory over Mawlynrei in Group B of the SSA Champions Cup 2025 at the SSA Stadium, with Chesterpaul Lyngdoh scoring a hat-trick. The goals were scored by Chesterpaul (40’, 45’+3, 58’), Kitboklang Pale (51’, 53’), Hardy Cliff Nongbri (63’), and Gerrard Dakerlang Sun (84’). This win consolidated Nongkseh’s hold on second place in Group B, although their semifinal spot is not yet confirmed.
In Group A, Umlyngka secured a narrow 1-0 win over Mylliem Lum, with Samborwell Nongbsap scoring the only goal in the 67th minute. Despite their victory, Umlyngka remains in third place, while Mylliem Lum was knocked out of contention after suffering their second defeat in three matches.
The upcoming matches promise to be thrilling, with Laitkyrhong facing Shillong Lajong in Group B at 1 pm, followed by a high-stakes Group A showdown between Langsning and Meghalaya Police at 4:30 pm. Laitkyrhong needs at least a point to stay alive in the semifinal race, while the Langsning–MLP clash pits the group’s top two teams against each other.
