Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 6 :The Shillong Premier League 2025 got off to a sensational start with Nangkiew Irat coming from a goal down to beat Nongrim Hills 3-1 in an exciting opening match. Caldolan Kharmawphlang gave Nongrim Hills the lead in the 13th minute, scoring from a corner kick. However, Nangkiew Irat equalized just before halftime when Nongrim Hills’ captain Bankit Nongrum inadvertently deflected a cross into his own net in the 41st minute.
The second half saw Nangkiew Irat dominate, with Jefferson Pakyntein scoring in the 60th minute and Himanshu Patil adding another goal just two minutes later. The match was played in heavy rain, adding to the drama on the pitch. Despite the challenging conditions, both teams showed determination and attacking intent.
