Imphal ( Manipur), March 29 : A tense situation unfolded in Manipur’s Ukhrul district as an angry mob set fire to the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) office, following the killing of four NSCN Eastern Flank cadres in Kamjong district. The victims were ambushed and shot dead by a rival group at Hongbei village on Saturday, sparking outrage and unrest in the area.
The NSCN-IM denied involvement, stating no directive was issued from their headquarters. An internal inquiry is underway to investigate the circumstances. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with officials and CSOs to discuss the situation, emphasizing the need for peace and stability.
The incident has heightened tensions in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, sharing borders with Nagaland and Myanmar.
