Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 24: The 17th edition of the Rozgar Mela was held at the State Convention Centre here, providing employment opportunities to the youth. More than 58 youths received appointment letters across various Central Government departments, including the Department of Posts, NEEPCO, CRPF, Railways, and State Bank of India.
Pabitra Margherita, Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Textiles, attended the occasion as the Chief Guest, lauding the enthusiasm among the youth of Meghalaya. He highlighted the national impact of the initiative, stating that over one million appointment letters have been distributed across the country since the launch of the Rozgar Mela in 2022.
Margherita emphasized the government’s focus on employment generation and skill development, citing initiatives such as the Employment-Linked Incentive Scheme and the Skill India Mission. He congratulated the candidates receiving their appointment letters, encouraging them to contribute to India’s growth story.
The programme featured video addresses from Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Science & Technology, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reiterating the government’s commitment to empowering youth through employment and skill-based opportunities. Senior dignitaries from various departments attended the event.
