Shillong ( Meghalaya) ,Oct 13 : Meghalaya’s women’s cricket team made a strong comeback in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy plate group, defeating Nagaland by five wickets with an over to spare in Agartala. After three consecutive washouts, Meghalaya bounced back with a convincing win, thanks to a solid all-round performance.
Nagaland were restricted to 74/7 in 20 overs, with Solina Jaba taking 3/14 and Rubi Chetri and Debasmita Dutta claiming one wicket each. Najmeen Khatun top-scored for Nagaland with 19.
In response, Meghalaya lost early wickets, but Debasmita Dutta steadied the ship with 31 off 47 balls, sharing a crucial 44-run partnership with Suriti Kumari Ray. Rubi Chetri finished the match off with 16 not out, and Debasmita was adjudged Player of the Match. Meghalaya will now face Mizoram on Wednesday.
