Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 11 : The Megha Kayak Fest 2025, scheduled from October 14-18, will feature the inaugural Asian Extreme Kayak Championship, bringing together top paddlers from Asia and beyond to the picturesque Shillong Whitewater Village in Umtham,here . The event is being organized by the Ri Bhoi Water Sports & Tourism Corporation Society Limited, in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Meghalaya, and the Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association.
Registration for participants will begin on October 14, and the festival promises to deliver a world-class event that combines sport, adventure, and the natural beauty of Meghalaya’s waterways. The championship will feature thrilling competitions, including Enduro and Sprint races, and will offer a total prize money of around ₹16 lakh. With tent camping facilities available at the venue and nearby resorts offering accommodation options, the event is expected to attract a large number of participants and spectators alike.
