Shillong (Meghalaya,)Sept 14: Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of the health of the general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on Monday has declared the staff quarters behind the Raj Bhavan Campus, Shillong as a micro-containment area so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.
The order states that no persons are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within this area shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their homes.
The Incident Commander, Zone III, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the order and any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
Earlier , on Saturday at least 30 persons working in Raj Bhavan tested Covid positive though the Governor , Satya Pal Malik tested negative .
The secretary to the Governor , Pravin Bakshi, IAS had tested positive by using RT -PCR along with other staff members .
However , he got himself again tested at a private hospital using CNNAAt and his sample tested negative .
