Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 8 : In a major boost to Meghalaya TMC in the Khasi Hills, a Block Level Meeting was held at Nongstoin,West Khasi Hills affirming the growing strength of the party in the state. The event saw a turn-out of over 5,000 people present as the audience and strengthening the party’s cause.
Widening the party’s base, Meghalaya TMC State President Charles Pyngrope and Trinamool Congress Legislature Party Leader and Leader of Opposition, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Dr.Mukul Sangma inaugurated a party office in Nongstoin, which was followed by a successful block meeting in Nongstoin.
The Meghalaya TMC State President, Charles Pyngrope explained that if elected to form the government in 2023, Meghalaya TMC will ensure a welfare-centric government for the state.
Further, appreciating Meghalaya TMC Block President, Nongstoin, Macmillan Kharbani for his consistent efforts, Charles Pyngrope commented, “This village has an honest leader with a vision for the future.”
Dr. Mukul Sangma spoke at the event with conviction that Meghalaya TMC is the only party to take BJP head-on in the state. He commented, “We, in Trinamool Congress, continue to fight against the agenda of the BJP, because we have a sense of commitment and a responsibility to fulfil.”
Pointing out the financial irregularities of the Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Promotion scheme under the MDA government, Dr. Mukul Sangma commented, “The initiative of the then government for sustainable living has been completely derailed by the current dispensation; it is being manipulated by the current government.”
Expressing his concerns, he added, “I have raised it to the government in the Assembly that there is plenty of money to focus on the betterment and the implementation of the plan. However, the government has a different agenda of looting the money.”
A congregation of leaders including Meghalaya TMC State President Charles Pyngrope, Trinamool Congress Legislature Party Leader and Leader of Opposition, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Dr. Mukul M Sangma, Meghalaya TMC State Vice President George B Lyngdoh, Meghalaya TMC State Vice President James Lyngdoh, and Meghalaya TMC Block President Macmillan Kharbani was present during the event.
