Shillong ( Meghalaya), Oct 15 : Meghalaya edged out Nagaland by 7 runs in a nail-biting U-19 men’s Vinoo Mankad Trophy match at Chandigarh. After losing the toss, Meghalaya posted 155 all out in 48.3 overs, with Dipayan Nandi top-scoring with 52 off 91 balls. In response, Nagaland fought hard but fell short, being dismissed for 148 in 49.1 overs.
Nagaland’s Aloto Sumi played a brilliant innings, scoring 66 off 139 deliveries, but his run-out off the first ball of the last over sealed the win for Meghalaya. Apandanka Marak was the star performer for Meghalaya, taking 4/18 in 10 overs. The match went down to the wire, with Meghalaya’s bowlers holding their nerve to secure a memorable victory. With two wins under their belt, Meghalaya now looks to their final match against Mizoram on Friday.
