Shillong ( Meghalaya) , Feb 10 : Banned militant outfit , Hynniewtrep Liberation Council (HNLC) today expressed its desire of holding talks with the state Government to usher in peace and security in the state.
The outfit formally addressed the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma expressing its desire to hold talks with the state government to usher peace in the state.
Addressing the media here , Home Minister Lakmen Rymbui said that HNLC has formally written to the Chief Minister to hold unconditional talks with the state Government.
The Minister also informed that the state Government has already started the process of identifying an interlocutor to facilitate the talks between the militant organization and the state government.
