Shillong(Meghalaya), Feb 11 : Mawlai SC produced a stunning display of attacking football to thrash Nangkiew Irat SC 6-0 in their OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024 match at the SSA Stadium, Polo, today. The convincing win helped Mawlai regain top spot in the standings with 32 points.
In another thrilling encounter, Sawmer SC secured a resounding 4-1 victory over Nongrim Hills, leapfrogging their opponents to seventh place in the standings.
Mawlai’s Kevin Rymbai stole the show with a brilliant hat-trick, scoring in the 47th, 58th, and 90+3 minutes. Overkindness L Mawnai, Banraplang Pyngrope, and Donlad Diengdoh also got on the scoresheet for Mawlai.
Sawmer SC’s Bickyson Kharkongor, Aibanraplang Dohling, Shanmeiaki Warlarpih, and Diego Khyriem found the net, while Alem Khongwir scored a consolation goal for Nongrim Hills.
With this win, Mawlai SC remains unbeaten in the league, while Nangkiew Irat SC suffered their heaviest defeat of the season.
