Shillong (Meghalaya), May 30: One person was killed, and three others are feared dead after a landslide at Nongpriang village under Shella on Thursday.
According to information available, two houses were washed away early this morning due to heavy downpour.
The dead body of Phisar Nongrum , aged 75 years have been recovered .3 others feared dead in a landslide at Nongpriang Village are Smti Benti Riahtam 60 years, Kynmaw Syngai (70) Benti Riahtam (60) and Lumlang Riahtam (16) and are still trapped under mud and boulders.
SDRF a personnels are camping in Nongpriang village and will resume the search operations on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, the IMD on Thursday issued a ‘red alert’ for heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in Meghalaya over the next five days.
