Flash Floods Claim Lives: SDRF Recovers Car, Search for Father -Child Duo Continues

Shillong (Meghalaya ), Oct 6 : A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills as flash floods swept away a car with a father and child inside. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) recovered the vehicle, bearing West Bengal registration plates (WB 06 7718, Wagon R), from the flood waters at Dalu Sonagre junction.

Despite challenging conditions, the SDRF team, stationed in the flood-hit Dalu area since Friday, continues to search for the missing occupants. SCR Sangma, Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, West Garo Hills district, confirmed that the search operation was resumed today morning as father and the child is yet to be traced.
