Guwahati ( Assam), May 28 : Five Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Bengaluru for stripping , raping and inserting a bottle into the private parts of a girl .
On Wednesday a video of the incident had gone viral on the social media and Assam police had released visuals of the accused from the video.
Bengaluru police on Friday fired at two of the four accused in the brutal rape of a woman who was alleged to have been trafficked from Bangladesh.
Two of them, Ridoy Babu and Sagar attacked the policemen and tried to escape from the crime scene. The police opened fire and both were shot at their knees before they were nabbed and are now being treated at a government hospital.
Bengalaru police in a press -note said that based on a video clip, wherein one woman was subjected to physical abuse and torture by a group of people, five culprits including a woman, visible in the clip were immediately traced and secured by Bengaluru City police.
The statement also added that they had brought the victim to India for human trafficking. On the basis of the contents of the video clip and facts disclosed during preliminary interrogation of the nabbed accused, a case of rape, assault has been registered and other relevant provisions of law invoked against the accused.
At present the victim is away in a neighbouring state. and team of police has been sent to trace her, so that she could join the investigation.
According to police , the accused was brutally tortured and a bottle was inserted into her private parts over some financial deal.
The video is believed to have been shot months ago and had surfaced first in Bangladesh .
