Sohra(Meghalaya), Nov 19 : Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma inaugurated the Ramakrishna Mission College at Sohra today, Nov 19, marking a significant milestone in the state’s educational landscape. The college, the first Ramakrishna Mission institution in the North East, is affiliated with Captain Williamson Sangma State University.
The Chief Minister praised the Ramakrishna Mission for its dedication to providing holistic education, emphasizing that the organization’s work in nurturing values of discipline, hard work, and empathy in students is truly commendable. He highlighted the importance of investing in human capital, stating that it is crucial for the government’s and society’s growth.
While acknowledging the challenges in the education sector, the Chief Minister assured that the government is working to streamline and structure the system to achieve quality education. He emphasized the need to prioritize the needs of students, stating, “Let the student be the guiding force in all our decisions, not just for what is good for the teachers, schools, or managing committees, but for what is right and good for the student.”
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Ramakrishna Mission for their contribution to the educational and vocational needs of the youth and pledged the government’s support for their mission. He assured that the government will work with the Ramakrishna Mission to address infrastructure challenges faced by the institution.
