Imphal ( Manipur), June 1 : Two cases of Black Fungus were reported following Covid-19 illness in Manipur. The Manipur Government has ordered all hospitals, health centres or clinics to report such cases, failing which may attract actions under the current epidemic act.
Meanwhile, Manipur reported 798 new cases and 18 more deaths on Tuesday, according to the Health Department. The total infection in the state has now reached 51,549.
As many as 207 new cases were reported from Imphal East, 323 from Imphal West, 81 from Thoubal, 49 from Bishnupur, 14 from Kakching, 13 from Senapati, 9 from Kangpokpi, 52 from Churachandpur, 8 from Tamenglong, 3 from Chandel, 19 from Ukhrul and 19 from Jiribam according to the Health Department, Government of Manipur.
Eighteen deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. The death toll has now reached 825.
As many as 629 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate has dipped to 81.05 percent.
Active cases have surged to 8,942. Out of these, 4,921 are in home isolation at present.
