Agartala (Tripura), May 16 : 11 persons including 7 BSF personnel tested positive for COVID -19 with the total number of cases in the state rising the tally to 167 today.
While four fresh cases were from Churaibari gate under North Tripura district the other seven other cases are from 86th BN BSF unit in Ambassa under Dhalai District.
With this the total number of COVID -19 positive cases in the state tolled to 167 which include 159 cases from BSF units in Ambassa.
So far, 40 BSF personnel including their family members have been released from the COVID care center and hospital.
According to official report, so far in the state a total of 13,172 collected samples 12561 have been tested of which 156 samples have been tested positive while 42 persons have recovered and released from hospital.
State Chief Minister , Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted this morning, ”625 samples have been tested for #COVID19 and among them 11 persons found #COVID19 POSITIVE.7 people from 86-Bn BSF & 4 civilian from Churaibari Gate ( 2 driver from other state, 2 people returned from Guwahati ).”
