Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 14 : Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has released the first installment of Rs 2,500 to over 93,000 beneficiaries under the FOCUS+ Scheme, totaling Rs 23.25 crore. This flagship initiative aims to empower rural households and strengthen the state’s agricultural value chain.
The FOCUS+ Scheme, launched in July 2022, is an extension of the Farmers’ Collectivization for Upscaling Production and Marketing Systems (FOCUS) initiative. It has supported over 1.5 lakh farmers and disbursed Rs 75.3 crore to boost Agri-economic activities till date.
The scheme provides financial support to rural households, promoting diverse agricultural activities and enhancing livelihoods. With this release, the Meghalaya government is taking a significant step towards achieving its vision of empowering rural households and making the state’s agricultural sector more self-reliant.
