Shillong (Meghalaya ), Feb 28 Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today laid the foundation stone of Rev. Joseph Bacciarello Annexe Building of St. Anthony’s College, here . The Salesian Provincial of Shillong Province, Father Paul O. Lyngdoh blessed the foundation stone ceremony after invoking God’s blessing and reading the word of God.
Speaking on the occasion, Conrad K. Sangma announced that 1 crore rupees will be given by the government to start constructing the five-storied building. The Chief Minister also assured the College authorities that he will get more funds from other sources for the development of the college.
In his speech , Father Paul O. Lyngkot lauded Father Joseph Bacchiarello not only as a Salesian Missionary, but as a pioneer in the field of Higher Education in the Northeast.
