Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 14: In a significant operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya apprehended 7 Bangladeshi nationals who were attempting to infiltrate into India. The apprehension was made on Friday, Dec 13, in the Rattachera area under East Jaintia Hills district.
According to BSF officials, the 7 individuals were lured by two Bangladeshi touts who facilitated their crossing into India on payment of BD Taka 7000/- (Taka 1000/- per head). The touts also promised free medical treatment at Kolkata for two of the apprehended persons, Mohammed Shahjahan and Miss Aarifa.
The BSF has handed over the apprehended individuals to the concerned authorities for further investigation and necessary action. The operation demonstrates the BSF’s commitment to securing the Indo-Bangladesh border and preventing illegal activities.
