Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 26 : BSF Meghalaya on Thursday , apprehended 2 Indian nationals along with 9 cattle crammed in a vehicle. These cattle were being taken for smuggling into Bangladesh from the bordering area of East Khasi hills, Meghalaya.
Acting on specific tip-off, troops of 110 Bn BSF laid a mobile check post in the area of village Ryngku and confiscated the cattle laden vehicle near the International Border.
Both the smugglers were also nabbed from the spot while unloading the cattle from the vehicle for further crossing them over to Bangladesh.
BSF same day also seized 39 cattle from different border areas.
During the month of January BSF Meghalaya seized 231 cattle along the Indo- Bangladesh border.
FIR has been lodged against the apprehended persons at PS Mawsynram and the cattle were handed over to Police for further course of action.
