Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 2: In a swift and coordinated operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya and local police apprehended two Bangladeshi infiltrators and an Indian driver near the International Border in East Khasi Hills on Friday.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding illegal crossings in the area, the 4th Battalion BSF collaborated with Pynursla Police Station to intercept a Wagon R vehicle (Registration No. ML-05 AC 1946) on NH 40 near Pynursla. During the vehicle search, the joint team found two Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian taxi driver, suspected of facilitating the crossing.
This operation showcases the vigilance and cooperation between the BSF and local law enforcement agencies in safeguarding India’s borders.
The BSF has a history of thwarting infiltration attempts, having previously apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals, including three females, along with two Indian facilitators in East Jaintia Hills district.
The successful operation highlights the BSF’s commitment to securing India’s borders and preventing illegal activities. With the world’s largest border security force, the BSF continues to be the “First Line of Defence” of Indian territories.
