Shillong(Meghalaya), Sep 10 : Meghalaya Legislative Assembly today remembered the twenty public representatives including three of them from Meghalaya, who passed away when the Assembly was not in session.
The six-day Autumn Session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly began today. The Business Advisory Committee chaired by Speaker, Metbah Lyngdoh has allotted three days for Government Business and three days for Private Business in the entire session.
The Session began with Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma introducing the notification of the Meghalaya State Consumer Protection (Salary, Allowances and Condition of Services of President and Members of the State Commission and District Commission) Rules, 2021 and the 13th Annual Report of the Meghalaya State Information Commission for the year 2021.
Meghalaya Forest and Environment Minister James K. Sangma introduced the Meghalaya Forest Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2021 in the Assembly.
The House also remembered Obil Kyndait, Dr. P.W. Khongjee and Misalan Suchiang who passed away when the House was not in session. Obituary references to these public representatives were made by Meghalaya Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Leader of Opposition Dr. Mukul M. Sangma, P.T. Sawkmie (Congress), Zenith M. Sangma (Congress), Himalaya M. Shangpliang termed these public representatives as great contributors of the development state and the country.
The members also expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.
